Stars That Shine New Spring Workshops and Programs for Girls in The Eastern Panhandle


Stars That Shine is a nonprofit organization serving Berkeley County, Morgan County and Jefferson County, West Virginia. Stars That Shine is working within our local communities to create programs and opportunities for girls ages 12-20. Stars That Shine offers programs, workshops, education opportunities, internships, scholarship funding, peer support groups and more for girls in the Eastern Panhandle. The organization will start off the spring season with a new Girl Empowerment Workshop and the organizations newest program ‘Girl Next Door’.


Stars That Shine will host a Girl Empowerment Workshop for middle school and high school girls on April 22nd at Sam Michaels Park in Harpers Ferry WV from 5pm-8pm. Bring your best friends, we’re celebrating friendships and girl empowerment with food, fun, activities and more! Girl Next Door is a Stars That Shine program that provides a safe space for girls to talk about issues they face daily such as: bullying, self- confidence, peer pressure, and much more.


 

Girl Next Door will provide girls with skills to improve their self- worth, maximize intellectual and social growth, and tools to continue their development process. Girl Next Door will consist of activities and workshops that focus on various topics such as stress reduction, conflict resolution, educational goals, healthy self- image, mental health awareness, diversity and inclusion; and leadership skills. Open To Jefferson County, West Virginia and Berkeley County, West Virginia High School Students.


In addition to the organization’s latest programs and workshops, Stars That Shine is still offering a variety of its services and outreach initiatives for girls in middle school, high school and college. Including mentorship, peer support, paid internships, scholarship funding, career-readiness programs, tutoring, volunteer opportunities and more!
